Recognize. Respond. Reassure.
First Aid Training
First Aid training prepares participants to recognize common injuries and sudden illnesses, take appropriate initial action, protect themselves and the injured person, and support the person until professional medical care is available.
Practical Help Before EMS Arrives
Many emergencies begin with ordinary people nearby: a coworker sees a fall, a parent notices breathing trouble, a teacher responds to a severe allergic reaction, or a staff member finds someone bleeding. First Aid training provides a structured approach for deciding what is happening, what can be done safely, and when emergency services are needed.
Training combines foundational knowledge with practical response steps. The goal is not to replace professional medical care, but to help participants provide appropriate immediate assistance while avoiding actions that could cause additional harm.

What to Do First
Protect
Check for hazards and use appropriate precautions before approaching. A responder should avoid becoming an additional victim.
Assess
Determine responsiveness, breathing, visible injuries, symptoms, and whether the situation appears immediately life-threatening.
Activate
Call emergency services when needed and clearly communicate the location, condition of the person, and known hazards.
Assist
Provide care within the responder’s training, monitor the person, offer reassurance, and continue support until higher-level care arrives.
Build a More Prepared Team
Know the Plan
Participants should understand how to activate their organization’s emergency procedures and where emergency supplies are located.
Know the Equipment
Training can reinforce awareness of first aid kits, gloves, AEDs, emergency communication systems, and site-specific resources.
Know Your Role
Clear roles reduce confusion. Staff can practice who calls 911, who meets responders, who retrieves equipment, and who provides immediate care.
Training That Fits Your Environment
First Aid risks are different in an office, school, residential program, community event, warehouse, or athletic setting. Safer Tomorrows can discuss the population you serve, the types of incidents you prepare for, and the training objectives your team needs. Site-specific emergency procedures can be referenced when appropriate, while formal course requirements remain aligned to the selected curriculum.
Prepare Your Team to Respond

First Aid training does not replace professional medical evaluation or emergency medical services. Course content and certification requirements vary by curriculum and organization.
